The Asia Cup cricket, which is currently underway is the tenth edition of the tournament. In the nine Asia Cup tournaments that have been played so far, the Indians have won it four times, Sri Lanka has won it four times as well, whereas Pakistan have been the winners once.

This time, the Asia Cup will be played in Sri Lanka, and all the games will be played Dambulla. The track at Dambulla is one of the few in the world which assist the bowling and will be ones to watch out for the batsmen. And talking of watch, you can watch the tournament online as well, on the official site for Neo Cricket.

The culture to watch cricket online has begun to change over the period of time, and more viewers are now watching the Asia Cup online as well. So, do not fail to catch the action live!

The four teams in this edition’s tournament are India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. In the last edition, UAE and Hong Kong had also participated in the tournament, but paucity of time meant that only four teams will play each other once before the top two make it through to the final.

Two games of the Asia Cup have already been played, and in the first one, Sri Lanka beat Pakistan in a humdinger. Pakistan are going into the tournament with the return of Shoaib Malik and Shoaib Akhtar, both of whom have had discipline issues in the past. However, with Afridi leading the side, it will be an interesting thing to see how they go about their business.

Pakistan’s problem in the tournament is their batting, which looks a little fragile. Their bowling is strong enough despite missing Umar Gul, but the inexperience in the batting may cost them dear.

India also sees the return of their seniors for the Asia Cup, but there is no Sachin Tendulkar (rested) or Yuvraj Singh. Both will be sorely missed in the tournament. The tournament could also see Saurabh Tiwary bat in the tournament for the first time in international cricket and that could just get exciting for the Indians. He reminds many of the power that Yuvraj Singh has shown when he had first entered the international arena, and that will make it more interesting.

Sri Lanka will have the biggest advantage going into the Asia Cup cricket. They understand these conditions rather well, and that should make it easier for them. Of course, it would be worth a watch if they bat second, under the Dambulla lights, as to how would they cope with same.

The way Bangladesh have been losing games recently, they could just be filling the numbers in the Asia Cup. How well do they perform in the tournament will be directly related to the way their captain and Mohammad Ashraful plays in the tournament.
